Journal to the Center of the Mirth
Okay, my first official journal entry. Before I begin, I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone responsible for LJ. You know who you are. Job well done! Now I'd like to take a moment to curse those responsible for LJ. Fuck you and the horse you wrote in on. I just know I'm gonna get addicteder than shit.

Alright, with that out of the way, on with the journal entry! But first...the last really good movie I saw was Serenity--which I own on DVD because even as I was watching it in the theater it was closing and being sent straight to DVD. Hell, if you went out for popcorn you ran the risk of it having left the theater while you were gone. That's a shame cause it was a great movie and it's success, or lack thereof, will probably mean no more of them and that really sucks. Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, without further delay, my journal entry.

But first...the last really great book(s) I read was Illium and Olympos by Dan Simmons. I'd been watching the shit out of Troy, with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana and the rest, cause I've got DishNetwork and if it isn't showing like every couple of hours the world will surely end, and then I read this telling of the tale and I _loved_ it. Please, read it if you haven't yet.

Okay...now my first journal entry! Drumroll, please! Drumroll! Okay, trumpets blaring. Or just playing. Please, somebody herald my ass onto LJ with some pompous and circumstance or something. No? Guess I'll go on without it. On with my journal entry for your approval...but first. Many of you might be wondering what I've been doing for the last several dozen lunar phases or so. Well I'll tell ya...same old, same old. Still married to Miss Debbie, still have a son, now 12, and a daughter now and a nice little 2000 square foot home in suburban Indianoplace, lost a wonderfull dog, Missy, gained a not so wonderful dog, Morpheus and another really quite adorable doggie, Ginger (...and the professor and Mary Ann) and I still work for IUPUI and I still enjoy crocheting hang gliders for the blind and volunteering down at the Teenage Nymphomaniacs Anonymous Center and I purchased a really massive strap-on glow-in-the-dark dildo for Deb when she wants that "full to the brim" feeling during sex as ol' Markus' pecker might have to retire to Florida due to forty-plus years of use and abuse, you know, it'll get a condo, get a tan, maybe play some golf, maybe go deep sea fishing or snorkeling, play pinocle with the other old dicks at the pool. Pretty standard stuff, really.

Okay, enough chit chat, on with the official journal entry...

But first, I hope all of you are well. I have missed bullshitting around with you on Usenet. I still hang out there but it's really pretty pathetic as I'm usually in the golf group or the Vikings group or maybe I'm on the Talk Origin one pokin sticks at the retards. But you people, and you know who you are, you're the best and finest I've ever known and I'm proud, and pleased beyond the capacity for human endurance, to know that you guys missed ol' Markus.

Okay, enough of this shit, I'm beginin' to tear the fuck up. On with the journallin' you've all been a hankerin' for...
